CAKE

Acrylic on canvas board. 9 in. by 12 in.

5/31 I uploaded a new photo taken with a friend's digital SLR. The color is much better than anything I was able to get. Thanks Rowells!

SORRY

Gouache and watercolor on watercolor paper. 5.25 in. by 7.5 in. I'm sorry that I was not more creative with my subject matter on this one. I didn't have time to think about it too much, but I love Carla's take on this one. Anyway, I saw a lot of sorry little people in this week's entries also, so I thought I'd try my own take on a sorry little person. Boy, does she look sorry. I almost feel bad. I have no idea what she did.

ANGELS AND DEVILS

Acrylic on canvas board. 10 in. by 10 in. This one is too big for the scanner so I have to settle for this lousy picture.

Progress... Posted by Picasa

Thursday, April 27, 2006

No robots here... I'm working on my first commission - in progress. OK, well, my husband is commissioning it and he's not really going to pay me, but what the hey, it's work! He liked my monster painting so much that he decided he wanted something like it for our new kitchen. It's good practice.  Posted by Picasa

SPEED

Ink and Caran d'Ache Aquarelles on paper. 4.25 in. by 6.25 in. This started out as just a sketch in pen and ink. I started using the aquarelles to test out my color idea. I was having so much fun that I decided not to paint it afterall and just post this. The little car was a toy I sketched a few years ago (we had purchased it as a gift for child). For some reason I thought of it immediately when I saw this week's topic. Posted by Picasa

SPRING

Acrylic. 5 in. by 7 in. What's more spring-like than a Robin's nest? I hope I get to the point some day that I can say, "This is exactly what I had in mind when I started out," or even if it wasn't, "I'm totally satisfied with this". I don't think I'm doing a very good job with my photos of my paintings. Any suggestions? Posted by Picasa

MONSTER

Acrylic on canvas. 9 in. by 12 in. His name is Ordoch. My 3 year old described a monster for me and this is what we came up with. I used a technique using blended fibers I learned a couple years ago in a class. I'm pleased with how it turned out. Posted by Picasa

TATTOO

Pen and ink with Prismacolor. 2 in. I'm busy this week so you get a drawing of my tattoo, as it looked 15 years ago when it was new (yikes! has it been that long?) Posted by Picasa

Sofia 2/10/06 - I've been busy with a birthday and some out of town guests, so I decided to go with a couple simple sketches of my two favorite little people. Posted by Picasa
